Some of you have expressed interest in recording yourself reading from your textbooks and putting the audio online for your students. Due to technical reasons, the BEST way to do this is to utilize YouTube, rather than upload videos directly to our website. This is because our website has bandwidth limitations, but we can essentially watch YouTube as much as we want. We can also easily embed YouTube videos in each teacher's blog. This guide will walk you through the basic steps on how to do this. To create a video, you need to have some kind of video camera from which to record audio and video from. Generally, the easiest way to do this is to have a computer with a webcam built in. You can also use a camcorder, but that can be somewhat trickier because you need to know how to convert your camcorder recording into a computer file that can be uploaded to YouTube. This guide will assume that you have broadband access to the Internet, and have a standard webcam on your computer. Let's get started!
